Cremation Options:
A Communal Cremation is when a group of pet are cremated together. In this case no remains will be returned to the pet owner. Communal Cremation remains are bured on a deed-restricted lot at a pet cemetery in Central Pennsylvania.
Private Cremation is when each pet is cremated individually. After the cremation, the remains are packaged in a velour pouch and placed in a hand-carved hardwood urn with a custom engraved brass name plate. Remains are returned to Neffsville Veterinary Clinic within 1-2 weeks. We will contact the pet owner when the remains are ready to be picked up.
Some pet owners choose to take their pet’s body home for an At-Home Burial. If you choose this option, a cardboard casket will be provided for your pet. We also encourage pet owners to check with their municipality before burial; sometimes this can conflict with certain ordinances.
Some pet owners choose burial in a Pet Cemetery. Pet cemeteries are becoming more common, especially in urban areas. Lancaster Pet Cemetery can be contacted at 291-1929 for more information on this option.
