When it comes to reproductive services, our hospital can provide the care you need. We provide a broad range of reproductive services to meet the needs of your animals.
Theriogenology, or animal reproduction, is Dr. Hockenberry’s special focus. At the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine he pursued hundreds of hours of elective opportunities in small animal reproduction. He was also selected as the sole receiver of the ‘Excellence in Theriogenology’ award while attending The Ohio State University. Here at Neffsville Veterinary Clinic he is currently offering the following services:
- Breeding Soundness Examination of the Bitch and Stud
- Ovulation timing
- Semen Collection and Evaluation
- Troubleshooting of infertility/subfertility
- Pregnancy Diagnosis
- Artificial Insemination
- Neonatal Care
- Cesarean Section
We are also highly skilled when it comes to c-sections for breeds such as English Bulldogs, Frenchies and Pugs. These breeds have large heads that can become stuck in the mother’s birth canal.
Over 80% of bulldog litters are delivered by c-section, and because of their body type certain breeds will typically need a c-section to give birth, or whelp.
That’s why we are proud to have expert surgeons who are knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to performing c-sections on these breeds. As a pet owner you want the best for your pet, and that is what our surgeons provide.
If you have any questions about your dog’s pregnancy or potential c-section or our reproductive services, please feel free to contact us today at (717) 569-5381. We would be happy to speak with you and give you all the information you need to make a decision regarding your expecting dog and her puppies.
